Colorado Hotel Uses Scottish Window Tinting to Block UV Rays Without Blocking Mountain Views
We recently had the pleasure of working on a challenging but fulfilling commercial project for a Marriot hotel located in Denver. This new establishment already had the top of the line glass, providing great energy efficiency and significant UV protection. The concern they were having was with the extreme glare experienced throughout the property from the giant floor to ceiling windows. The glare made it difficult for their guests to really enjoy any of the communal spaces. That’s when they reached out to Scottish to find the right solution.
Hotel Window Film for Solving Major Property Concerns
Initially, the hotel wanted to look into roller blades for addressing their glare concern. However, one of the major draws of the hotel was the incredible mountain views. Blocking these views was seriously undesirable. Due to the size of the property, they would have had to spend tens of thousands each year in labor alone to operate these blinds. We recommended glare reduction window film with additional UV protection so that the views wouldn’t be compromised and they wouldn’t have to spend money on operating blinds. This was the perfect solution, however, brought another challenge. Due to the large number of windows, they didn’t want to change the look of the hotel’s exterior with a darker film. We did small installations of over ten different films so they could see how the windows looked post-installation.
