How Long Does It Take To Install Window Film In a Home?

If you are anything like us, life is busy. It almost feels like there isn’t enough time which is why organizing and executing a home improvement project can seem daunting. First, you must research then call around to get estimates. This part is bad enough but then comes the work itself. Freeing up time to be at your Salt Lake City home while the work gets done is tricky. This is likely why we get so many questions from our clients about how window film is going to take to be installed. Happily, the answer is only about one day. That’s right–window film is a fast and affordable home improvement. It involves a straight-up process that is no more intrusive than something like getting your windows cleaned. To see why window film only takes one day to have installed, take a look at our window film installation process below.

 How Window Film Is Installed?

Installation methods for window film vary from installer to installer but are fairly similar across the board. Here at Scottish, our tried and true signature installation process is part of the reason our window film company has been so successful. It is also a reason to strongly consider us for your Salt Lake City window film project. The first step is an onsite consultation, like every job we do. This helps us find out exactly which film is right for your Salt Lake City home. We also take precise measurements at this time that allow us to accurately price your job. The next step is the installation. Since we cut all of our films ahead of time, the film is ready to go when we arrive. This aids our quick and seamless installation and reduces waste. When we arrive at your home we clean your windows to get them ready for film. After every smidgen of dirt and smudges are gone we apply the film using a special adhesive. Finally, we squeegee out residual bonding agents and clean your windows on last time–examining and fixing any defects or bubbles. The adhesive takes about 24 hours to set. But since it takes about 30 days to fully cure, we recommend waiting a month before cleaning. *Be sure to use a soft cloth and ammonia-free cleaners from this point forward.
